580 DRAWINGS AND 115 THOUSAND HRYVNA: RESULTS OF THE CZECH ACTION TO SUPPORT CHILDREN FROM UKRAINE
08/09/2022Gennady Butkevich’s BGV Charitable Foundation, together with German donors and Novaya Poshta, are launching a charity project for women in labor in Ukraine. The initiators of the project collected and delivered to Ukraine 10,000 kits for newborns and their mothers. Each such set contains specialized products from Germany, including children’s clothing (bodysuits, rompers, socks and hats), men’s pajamas for newborns, diapers, bottles, pacifiers, changing mats, diapers, baby and mother skin care products, hygienic products (pads, wet wipes and wet towels), as well as baby food and goodies for mothers.
The logistics partner of the project was the company “Nova poshta” – all sets will be sent to recipients at post offices or addresses throughout Ukraine absolutely free of charge.
A family of a newborn child from any region and settlement in Ukraine can receive such a kit. The age of the child at the time of submitting the application should not be older than two months, since the goods in the charity set are designed specifically for children aged 0-2 months and their mothers.
To receive a set, you need to fill out a short online application on the official website of the BGV charity foundation, specifying information about the mother and child, contact details of one of the parents for collection, data for sending the set by “New Mail”, and also adding a photo or scan of the necessary documents to the application — the child’s birth certificate and the mother’s passport or ID card.
The application will be processed within a week. If all the information is entered correctly, the fund’s team will automatically confirm the application to the specified e-mail and deliver the set to the specified address or to the “New Post” branch. If the application is filled out incorrectly or incompletely, a representative of the fund will contact you using the specified contacts to clarify the information.
“Despite war and destruction, new life continues to be born in Ukraine. Already after the beginning of the large-scale war, more than 48 thousand babies were born in the country. Mothers after giving birth and babies in the first months of their lives today, more than ever, need special care and help: according to UN estimates, 450,000 children in Ukraine under the age of 23 months need additional food support. Unfortunately, there are not isolated cases when mothers have to give birth in bomb shelters, in the subway, during evacuation, and even under shelling. Hundreds of destroyed hospitals and pharmacies, bombed stores and food warehouses, complicated supply of children’s goods from abroad – all this leads to a shortage of specialized goods for mothers in labor. Therefore, we could not stand aside from the problem. For me personally, as a mother, this project is special. And I thank all partners for joint efforts. We support a new life in Ukraine and believe in victory,” said Anna Butkevich, one of the initiators of the project.
